Naming problem
There seems to be a problem with the names given to some of the variable in the neural-network and data handling files. pytest thinks that any variable/function whose name starts with test_ is a test function.

@fsfrazao , could we simply rename the variables? Or instruct pytest only to look in the tests directory?
